Besides spending $ 15,000 on the 21 Royal experience for Halloween, Madison regularly posts
pictures of herself and her daughter doing Disney - related activities, including having a Disney - themed
cake for her daughter Rainbow Aurora (perhaps named after Sleeping Beauty),
taking multiple trips to Disneyland, and dressing as Disney characters.
Although I do believe that life is too short not to eat a piece
of cake every once in a while, life is also too short to not be happy with yourself... especially to the point that you won't have your
picture taken with your newborn child.
I recognize that I will never ever eat a dessert made out
of Oreo Coookies again as long as I live and I probably won't ever be the type
of mom who makes a three tiered «Oh The Places You Go» themed birthday
cake, but I love to look at the
pictures because they are fun and cute and beautiful, and then I
take that inspiration back to my kitchen and set out to prove to the world that you don't need food coloring, bread crumbs or sugar to make food look cute and fun.
I also got a slice
of the lemon
cake to
take away for later but again forgot to snap a
picture of it!
I'm pretty sure half
of the
pictures taken of me on my birthday growing up included this
cake and me stuffing a bite three times the size
of my head into my mouth.

I honestly admit, we ate 3/4
of the
cake while it was still warm, thank God I had time to
take a couple
of pictures.

cake pops (Bruno's special wish), cheesecake (which I couldn't
take a
picture of because the
cake didn't look as good as I wish it would have — it still tasted great though) and this Blitzkuchen.

I ended up only
taking one

If you
take a look through the
pictures on the linked blog article, you'll see that our sparkling sugar also melted into the top
of the
cake somewhat, but we found that it still made for a delightfully crunchy top layer.
Consider getting a photographer or
taking pictures of your own
cake smash moment ahead
of time and displaying them at the birthday party.
