UPDATE 4/12/13 —
Taking water kefir every morning 4 - 8oz.
In my research, I have not come up with any significant side effects nor have I developed any major flare - ups while
taking water kefir.
Hi - When I first began
taking water kefir I had what the doctor diagnosed as athletes foot (which is a fungal infection that I have previously been prone to) and I also got little white pulsile itchy spots on my hands (which I have also had at times in the past) I stopped taking the water kefir for a while and then began again with a smaller dose.
After
taking water kefir for 2 months, although I id not suffer from any particular complaint, it has deffinitely regularised my bowel movements and I feel great.
I personally
take water kefir despite the flatulence, constipation and the stomach pain.

taking a daily probiotic and consuming fermented foods such as saurkraut, kimchii, coconut yogurt and coconut
water kefir.
Not only do they have tons of different types of kombucha,
water kefir and kvass, they also have load of fermented foods you can
take home, including vegan kimchi (super hard to find in Berlin).
My fermenting adventures have
taken me from raw sauerkraut to kombucha (post coming soon) and now to
water kefir.
Take them out of the refrigerator and make a new batch of
water kefir everyday for a while.
I made
water kefir for a year or so and am
taking a break.
If you notice your grains looking mushy, or reducing in size, return them to sugar
water and
take a break from making coconut

i used to
take enzymes capsuals before food due to my intestinal problems and my naturapath advised me that i wont need to
take them any longer because i drink
water kefir twice a day before food do you think that makes sense.....
What is interesting is that we control the diarrhea by
taking out the newly introduce, daily
kefir water and spinach, which is suggestive of Histamine Intolerance.
I'm
taking L - Glutamine to help heal my intestines, plus lots of probiotics (probiotic vitamin plus
water kefir plus kombucha plus fermented veggies), krill oil.
I
took mine out of a batch of
water kefir that was already going.
Turns out just adding
kefir into your diet can bring on detox symptoms, and these symptoms can even mimic the flu: sore throat, swollen throat glands, and / or feeling feverish.With this new knowledge, I've decide to proceed carefully with the
kefir, drink plenty of
water with lemon juice (some extra Vitamin C couldn't hurt right now), and

water, I felt immediate benefit.

take: You enjoy the
water kefir, and it seems * highly * unlikely (to me) that the
water kefir is hurting you.

Anyway, I started
taking PS either plain with
water or with goat milk
kefir a little over a week ago.
The
kefir /
water can then be grown indefinitely as long as the crystals are
taken care of.
Another option is
water kefir which also
takes some time to prepare.
At the moment I try to
take more coconut
water kefir like the beginning (I
took less the
kefir and lemon
water recently because I am oversentisve to many food i.e. iodine food even spinach).
To boost levels of good bacteria, you can
take a probiotic supplement, or eat probiotic rich, fermented foods such as
water kefir, kimchee, sauerkraut, and unsweetened natural cultured coconut yogurt.
UPDATE 5/17/15 — ACIDITY: After 5 months of being only on Humira 1X / mo, HCL tablets (scroll to item # 3 after clicking link), and
water kefir, I noticed higher levels of acidity in my esophagus, some heartburn (especially if I don't
take enough HCL from my other meals), and more burping due to carbonation.
@Sansan — My suggestion is to make milk
kefir first with your grains, then after you've made your grains multiply,
take a few and try using them on the
water kefir recipe.
After stopping the
water kefir for over a month, I have seen no significant side effects or improvements
taking away the
water kefir.
If I'm tired of the babysitting and want to
take a break from
water kefir for a while, I put the grains into a small jar with some sugar
water and put them in the fridge.

The flavor of the Coconut

take some adjusting to, especially if omitting the sugar.
