Talc Verdict Falls, This Time in Los Angeles

verdict in the latest trial focusing on alleged links between
talc - based products like its Johnson's Baby Powder, use by many for feminine hygiene, and ovarian cancer.
The Los Angeles jury ordered the company to pay the plaintiff, who is currently hospitalized after the
verdict was reached on Monday in the lawsuit which claimed that using
talc powder regularly for feminine hygiene purposes causes ovarian cancer.
This
verdict is the largest sum awarded in the several
verdicts from
talc powder lawsuits against the company in the United States.
The defeats in court have been costly for the company, with
verdicts amounting in the millions for each case, and the company spokesperson has indicated that J&J plans to appeal the
verdicts standing by their denial that any link exists between
talc use and ovarian cancer.
Similar cases alleging ovarian cancer development as a result of
talc use have resulted in
