We love to read stories
about NFL players visiting
schools and encouraging kids to eat a healthy
school breakfast, and to get 60 minutes or more of physical activity every day; members of the Tennessee Titans recently visited with students in Nashville to
talk about ways to make healthy lifestyle changes.
Teachers often
talk to us
about the impact on pupils» behaviour when they've had a proper lunch rather than filling up on foods full of empty calories, and smaller studies comparing exam results at
schools with
breakfast clubs to those at
schools without found pupils got better results where healthy
breakfasts were on offer.
After the
breakfast club the whole of Harmondsworth Primary
school took part in an assembly with Tanni Grey ‑ Thompson, who
talked to the children
about the importance of being active at a young age, why she believes keeping active is an important part of her life and the benefits it can have throughout everyone's lives.
