When I
talk about re-using, I mean things like curating a series of features to create one overall feature
on the topic (e.g. best burger joints in London, curating your historic images & reviews to create one new overall feature, or 5 ways to style a denim
skirt, curating 5 of your previous outfit posts into one new feature to showcase the versatility or various ways to style etc).
They might not be in top summer Lookbooks, but we're
talking about the
skirts and cute blouses worn by people passing you
on the street which always look good.
Also, let's just
talk about T - Swifts little crop - top
skirt number, shall we?!? You will never see a crop - top
on me but damn she looked gooooooooood.
I do know that it shouldn't be the time to start the
talk on sweaters when summer is just around the corner, but what I love
about spring in Amsterdam or even in Paris is the the ability to wear thick knits with shorts and
skirts in the chilly afternoons.
Like the knit pull
on skirts I
talked about earlier, a drawstring (or elastic waist)
skirt is so so easy and therefore usually someones first garment (it was mine!)
Since we
talked about a party in the afternoon, Mrs. B. preferred to opt for two choices «short» instead of maxi dresses or long
skirts (perfect for a gala
on a yatch / cruise).
And can we
talk about how gorgeous that
skirt is
on you?
I already
talked to you
about my current and planned pregnancy style, and pleated
skirts are
on top of the lists.
Talk about the
skirt that just keeps
on giving!
But over the years, I've also indulged in one too many fast fashion pieces: tops that loose their shape after second washing (fortunately, they are great for house cleaning afterwards -
talk about recycling),
skirts that are way shorter than they appeared
on models (I'm
talking about you, Topshop, and your skater dresses that hardly cover the backside), and sweaters that gets lumpy even before the first wear.
The thought process for matching up these pieces started with this awesome maxi
skirt that I really wanted to wear and encompasses three different style tips / blog posts that I've
talked about on here.
After
talking about fringe trend yesterday, here's my take
on it with this dreamy H&M
skirt.
Throwing
on a ribbed midi
skirt with a silk button up and wool coat —
talk about luxe.
For instance, the two basics (not basic investment pieces, which I'll
talk about in future posts
on my blog... perhaps) that I'm loving in this outfit are a woven black
skirt and a knotted gray tee.
And now let's
talk about the clothes: fabulous wrap dresses and
skirts in deeply hued gem tones like pink quartz, topaz and emerald; an indigo and gold tiger moth printed blouse with
on fleek feature sleeves; bold, rose cloth accessories that would make Frida Kahlo proud, and a plush, comfy sweatshirt with a Louis XIV style embroidered bee for women.
