am from Canada and most of what you

As part of that exploration, us scholar - columnist -
bloggers have
been asked to
talk about trends in our corners of the blogosphere, and make some predictions and prescriptions for the role of scholar - op - ed - writers -
bloggers in Canada as it hurtles towards 2042.
This Friday I will
be joining colleagues in international affairs, journalism, public policy and political science to
talk about «Academics in the Media Landscape: The Role of Scholar - Columnist -
Bloggers».
Initially, this list
was made up of influencers we found by tracking keywords (like «content marketing») in Google Alerts, authors in industry trade publications, those who
were talking about the topic on Twitter, and other
bloggers that we just found interesting.
I
'm talking about painters, drawers, cartoonists, writers, poets, speakers, musicians, journalists,
bloggers, prayers, conservationists, activists, potters, gardeners, jewelers, dancers, bakers, and pizza makers.
Let me know what

I absolutely love connecting with cloth diaper
bloggers every single month and I
was excited to read and share content from March from all of the amazing
bloggers talking about cloth diapers.
Also just
being all the girls from the group we got to just chat and kinda
talk about what
is going on in the
blogger world.
She
is a frequent contributor to various higher education and college admissions websites as an author, panelist, and
blogger and regularly presents seminars and
talks for students and families
about preparing for college.
As I battle back and forth on these things, I've
been noticing a couple of my favorite

're a brand or a
blogger, you don't want to miss out on the event everyone
talks about all year long.

was in NYC last week and I
was talking to the social media maven at Verizon (who I think
is wicked smart)
about my escapades with phones and quality (or lack there off) and he thought that it
was a blog post right there.
If no mom
bloggers are talking about bedwetting, then the only sources of information
are on product websites and on medical sites like WebMD.

is the event of the year for women
bloggers.
I've only had them for 2 weeks, so it
's great to see all of the
bloggers talk about how long they last!
It
's why us
bloggers have to change our game, because those
are the things people want to
talk about.
If a
blogger, reporter or fellow mom at the playground
is talking in a demeaning manner
about issues that matter to me, I have every right to tune that person out.
But it
's hard to see how
bloggers regurgitating your
talking points
is going to help change anyone
's mind
about whether HFCS
is or isn't a highly processed toxic ingredient or whether it does or doesn't cause obesity, diabetes and liver disease.
And that
's where the fun began, because activists started also using the #nestlefamily hashtag to
talk about Nestle
's corporate wrongdoing, and to ask why
bloggers were attending the event.
In an attempt to just
be this year, I
'm taking the step to set up this party so I can connect with all of the
bloggers who want to
talk about cloth diapering.

Of course, I
'm not
talking about an absolute but a rule of thumb, and all bets
are off when it concerns elected officials and others whose lives
are in the public realm (celebrities, wannabes, MySpace exhibitionists, porn stars,
bloggers), since there
's no way a reality show contestant (for instance) can claim a reasonable expectation of privacy.

talk about how all of this relates to journalism and the perspective of mainstream media on academic blogging and whether the crisis of professional journalism
is an opportunity for academic
bloggers.
We
're talking about a multi-front war: besides words from McCain and Palin themselves, and conservative
bloggers and
talking heads on cable news, we
're seeing a comprehensive and centralized assault online.
I
'm not
talking about the Macaca moments,
blogger controversies or the unpropitious arrival of various kinds of unflattering documents, but
about serious analysis of intentional campaign tools and strategies, such as websites, social networking outreach, blogs and social media.
Of course, this obviously isn't true for ALL segments of the progressive blogosphere (how many male «mommy
bloggers»
are there, for instance, and how many men contribute to feminist blogs [besides, apparently, me]-RRB-, but when we
're talking about the general progressive political blogosphere — what most people think of when they
talk about «the blogs» — the big names
are predominantly male.
Steve: So, what we
are talking about here
is, a traditional journalist might think that his or her job
is to quote the evolutionary biologist, quote the creationist and let the reader decide, whereas the
blogger can say, «Oh, by the way, this stuff that you
're hearing from the creationist
is nonsense.»
