book about it, I got slammed in the face by things such as» of course you can't wear black when you are breastfeeding, you will be
covered in baby milk — and other things — all the time», «drooling babies will ruin your clothes, so don't bother dressing up», and of course «having to take your breast out every three hours doesn't make wearing anything fashionable very appealing».

«We can
talk in the class
about how to
cover major events, but until they walk along the paddock and hear the shrieks and roars of the cars and crowds... well, that's something they just won't ever get in a text
book.»
Talking about how an editor or
cover artist did a bad job on your
book just tells people that your
book isn't well put together, and readers won't want to buy it.
You're
talking about authors who don't put their
book covers front and center.
Of course you'll also want to have a «mini
book synopsis» in this section, revealing what happens in your
book if it's fiction, or what type of material you
cover if it's non-fiction (I'll
talk more
about book synopses later in this training).
But I feel that it doesn't hurt to recommend a
book if you're
talking about a technique that directly relates to a topic you've
covered in one of your Kindle
books.
I would argue they are significantly different services because, although both result in the author holding a bound
book in her hands with her name on the
cover, one involves a relatively large print run of that
book, a distribution deal (we're still
talking about HQN here), and branding.
Then use this sentence in your
book's sales copy, back
cover copy, marketing pieces, web site, business card, and anywhere you're
talking about your
book.
We
talk a little
about a lot of things: bad drugs, bad drug laws, good drugs, Breaking Bad, what inspires us and, of course, what goes into making a
book cover work or fail.

I've
talked about this with some other black female writers — as indie authors especially — with our suspicions that the majority of romance readers (non-black) will not pick up a
book with a black woman on the
cover, should we do it anyway and take the risk just to see ourselves on the
cover?
Imagine that she'll have a print run of 8,000 copies (based on a number of authors I've
talked to, this is
about right — if you're getting more
books printed than 8,000, and your advance is $ 3500, you're being seriously low - balled on the advance figure), and she'll sell 6,000 of those in the first year at 8 % of the
cover price of $ 7.99, giving her $ 3835.20 in print earnings.
Talk about the casual reader being confused and thinking they already had the
book because the
cover looked too much like every other
book on the shelf.

Talk about authors being upset because
books scheduled to come out were delayed while
covers were changed.

First we
talk with the author and learn more
about the
book and the characters, and we discuss ideas and potential
cover redesign concepts.
Or perhaps we just want a temporary
cover to use on WattPad, NaNoWriMo, or other site where we're
talking about our
book.
It's great if it can also truthfully represent the
book, but it's always better to use a powerful
cover that doesn't quite represent the
book accurately, but doubles your sales, than it is to represent the
book accurately (a mistake most authors make) with a shitty
cover crammed full of exact details and pictures and scenes and meanings that you can explain and
talk about for an hour but nobody else gets (or even likes).

We've been
talking a lot
about book covers lately, with steamy romance coverboys, links to the
book covers that got away and the reworkings of classics.
People are always
talking about judging a
book by its
cover, but for those of us who are obsessed with words, I'd say a title is equally if not more important.
