talking point of the season.
David Villa whose future at the club is very much
the talking point of the season got a rare start.
Not exact matches
Long overdue decision if you ask me, if only Wenger had been braver earlier on in the
season the Kos / Gab partnership would have properly gel by now... but this is Wenger we are
talking about, he might still decide to opt for his favorite, meritocracy is not one
of Wenger's strong
point
One
of the stars
of the
season, David de Gea will no doubt have been a
talking point after so many fine performances from the Manchester United goalkeeper.
Recap culture bends toward the same
talking points, and a critique
of this
season will certainly be «fan service» — i.e., by delivering what viewers want (Jon resurrected, Ramsay Bolton and Walder Frey killed, etc.), George R.R. Martin and the showrunners have moved away from the ruthless plot turns that made Game
of Thrones stand out in the first place.
The Wales international Aaron Ramsey may not have had the most stunning
of seasons for Arsenal Football Club, but the reasons for that will surely be the subject
of plenty
of talk and right now are besides the
point.
With the Premier League over for another year, here's a list
of 25
of the biggest
talking points and lessons learned from the 2014/15
season, including analysis on Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and more...
honestly hes not worse player on team, but i actually dislike him, i would kick his muller corner out
of his hands, given us one good
season an
talked himself up for the rest

Winslow's tally

talking point all

I'm
pointing out that all this «sample size» and «it's early» and «stop being negative»
talk is ignoring very real problems with this team because people don't want to believe that maybe, just maybe, the expectations were too high at the start
of the
season.
I've heard pundits on others stations flat out say they are tired
of talking about us because it's just the same nonsense every
season and they've over the subject to the
point it's boring.
And when you look back at the last decade, none
of those youngsters have progressed in the way that they were hyped up to and yes I'm
talking about the likes
of Ramsey, Walcott, Jack Wheelchair and the Ox who all had a one
season wonder
of some sort, during one
point in their Arsenal careers, thus far and We can't keep using this excuse for not buying ready made quality, which would instantly improve our chances
of winning a major trophy or two, but No, Wenger wants to stick with a theory which clearly isn't working for us on the pitch, but he doesn't really care, as long as it works out well for saving the penny's and the pounds, in the place where it matters most for Arsenal fc, in the bank.
It therefore comes as little surprise that one
of the game's biggest
talking points will be Harry Kane, a 21 - year - old centre forward who before this
season had only played in 14 Premier League matches, scoring just three goals.
There was a lot to take in but somehow YouTube user Rodziej has managed to wrap up all
of the main action and
talking points in an awesome 25 - minute
season review video.
The centre - back role has been a huge
talking point in North - London so far this
season, with Per Mertesacker falling foul
of a long - term injury which is set to keep him out until February at least, before Gabriel Paulista followed him onto the crock list a week before the opening weekend.
The Chilean forward has been a high
talking point in the press this
season, with the player's contract entering it's final year next month, and Paris have been among a number
of clubs linked with his signature.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety
of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style
of play has become a shadow
of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out
of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid
of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out
of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes
of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play
of Monreal, but none
of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio
of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last
season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off -
season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some
points in the latter part
of last
season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part
of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature
of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player
of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out
of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front
of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that,
of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract
talks before the
season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one
of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one
of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already
of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs
of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack
of mobility is an albatross around the necks
of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because
of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Less sure about Auba but I like him too in terms
of finishing ability... Anyway there's no
point talking about him this
season as he has been quoted to be biding his time for a transfer to RM.
It is up to Arsenal to make the most
of any slip ups by our Premier League rivals
of course, and after slipping back into third place, even though we are only behind Man City on goal difference, means that we will need to do better than them and Leicester City for the rest
of the
season, while the run
of results from our north London rivals has brought Tottenham right up to just two
points behind us and got people
talking about them as genuine title contenders.
Fans, well, some
of them, are already
talking about the defeat in Germany as a possible turning
point for us... Like Aston Villa was last
season...!!
The win took Arsenal level on
points with Man City and even though Pellegrini's team have a slightly better goal difference, plus 35 compared to our own 33, it looks to have put us in pole position to finish in second place and confirm the EPL improvement we have been
talking about in the second half
of the
season.
Secondly for allthe
talk of us being so much better than Chelsea over the second half
of the
season Chelsea totalled 41
points ou
of their last 18 games, Arsenal totalled 42
points.
Lopoz, in his 10th
season coaching De La Salle,
talks highly
of Pagila's well - rounded game but marvels even more at his decision to attend West
Point.
This could create the real negotiating sticking
point in any Stanton
talks, as teams trying to acquire Stanton won't want to give up too much for a player they could have for three
seasons, while the Marlins can argue that even just three
seasons of Stanton should be atop everyone's holiday wish list.
Picture this, we don't come out
of the gate firing on all cylinders, Wenger speaks
of how there wasn't enough time for the first - teamers to build chemistry, several key players aren't even playing because
of Wenger's utterly ridiculous policy regarding players who played in the Confed Cup or the under21s and the boo - birds have returned in full flight... if these things were to happen, which is quite possible considering the Groundhog Day mentality
of this club, how long do you think it will take for Wenger to recant his earlier statements regarding Europa... I would suggest that it's these sorts
of comments from Wenger which are often his undoing... why would any manager worth his weight in salt make such a definitive statement before the
season has even started... why would any manager who fashions himself an educated man make such pronouncements before even knowing what his starting 11 will be come Friday, let alone on September 1st... why would any manager who has a tenuous relationship with a great many supporters offer up such a potentially contentious
talking point considering how many times his own words have come back to bite him in the ass... I think he does this because he doesn't care what you or I think, in fact he's more than slightly infuriated by the very idea
of having to answer to the likes
of you and me... that might have been acceptable during his formative years in charge, when the fans were rewarded with an scintillating brand
of football and success felt like a forgone conclusion, but this new Wenger led team barely resembles that team
of ore... whereas in times past we relished a few words from our seemingly cerebral manager, in recent times those words have been replaced by a myriad
of excuses, a plethora
of infuriating stories about who he could have signed but didn't and what can only be construed as outright fabrications... it's kind
of funny that when we want some answers, like during the whole contract debacle
of last
season, we can't get an intelligent word out
of him, but when we just what him to show his managerial acumen through his actions, we can't seem to get him to shut - up... I beg you to prove me wrong Arsene

The Arsenal boss also moved to

of changing manager at crucial
points in the

point last year and suggesting that he was facing a very important and perhaps pivotal

As well as declaring himself pretty underwhelmed by the signing
of Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle by our north London rivals Tottenham (Keown thinks it was an unnecessary purchase which the spuds can scarcely afford as they build a new stadium) he spoke about one
of the biggest
talking points of the last few days, the loan move
of Jack Wilshere to AFC Bournemouth for the
season.
lets not

of being at a big club like arsenal

of the Premier League
season to uncover the key
talking points and moments
of interest.
Chelsea have
of course been all the
talk so far this
season, as their fantastic performances have already brought them an 8
point lead at the top
of the table with 16 games to go and the fact they have conceded only 15 goals in 22 matches certainly says a lot about their
season.
Yesterday at 09:56 pm - As Wanderers prepare to host already - promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers in their penultimate home game
of the
season, highlights five
talking points ahead
of the match...

season has only been going well because
of Özil.

season; Thursday night provides an opportunity for revenge and below are the key
talking points ahead
of the game:
I'll take 6th for a couple

talking about the Ostersunds game: bring it on, with Laca to score a hatrick!)

of playing time has been a major
talking point this
season.
@ larryking listen jock wenger could never coach anyother club because no big club would go six
season without a trophy there is no way wenger could go to madrid and go two
season without a trophy no way in hell he would be fired in no time bmunich fired klinsman less than half
season look at the real madrid coach grave yard pelligrinie made 95 +
points last
season that amount would win the league in almost any country yet he got fired i can go on if fergi goes two
seasons without a trophy am sure he gone i love arsenal but football is about winning trophies wenger has hypnotize you i do nt care arsenal have gone five years without a trophy and six witout the league not even a carling cup or fa cup and loosing all our best players all for money all this
talk about wenger and his youth policies i can count on both hands all the players that came through arsenal youth system that went on to be world beaters look at the current crop walcott nasri diaby denilson bedtner clichy none
of these are world class they have improve minimal @ arsenal compare that to barca their youths pedro and co are world beaters event the great vanpercy who we rate he would never leave arsenal because all that chance wenger gives him he would» t get at other big clubs this does not make sense we buy young players they take ages to develop most do nt» t then we sell them or they leave because they want to win things that how you grow pretty soon that top four will become very hard to stay in if we get out
of that then what i wish all you wenger fans luck am all out
of patients with him last chance this year................

talk about trends here at The Brunette Nomad because I think it's interesting to see what becomes the focal
point of each
season and what trends become wardrobe staples — it does happen.
This election
season, pundits have been fond
of pointing out the near - 50 / 50 split
of the electorate and
talking about how the American people are as deeply divided as at any other time in our history.
But its absence from other major categories has not so far been a
talking point of the 2015 awards
season.

Since that first tax
season she has written blog posts and
talking points, edited content
of all shapes and sizes, facilitated media interviews for the experts in The Tax Institute at H&R Block and supported the DIY team.
Focusing on just one episode for that first announcement would have severely limited the amount
of talking points we had to work with, and wouldn't have allowed us to sell the overarching vision for what the team are trying to achieve with the
season as a whole.
