tank controls feel uncomfortably unresponsive, and horrible movement mechanics feel more suited to Roblox than any respectable survival horror.
There are now more enemies and land mines which in turn makes
the tank controls feel slightly more dated and more difficult to navigate the maps.
While driving the moon buggy required more precision thus making
the tank controls feel dated, it still didn't completely ruin the experience.

When I first started the game after only having played a few of the 2D Metroid games I kind of enjoyed the
tank controls, because it gave me a very similar
feel to how Samus
controlled in those 2D games (like how you had to stop moving to be able to aim in the 3D space in front of you), but as I continued I quickly realized that this
control scheme does not work well for the type of game that Metroid: Prime is.
This is combined with the fact that vehicles like the
tank control too slowly while the bike
controls too fast, so you never
feel like you're fully in
control of either.
It would have been nice to have more direct
control, but it still
feels good raining death on the enemy with drones, helicopters and your remote -
controlled tank, Goliath.
The game's
feel is important too: Dead Space makes you
feel like a
tank without giving you the horrible
tank controls traditionally associated with horror games.
Camera
control feels natural and suited for the game thanks to being stuffed in the cockpit of a
tank, which typically has a limited viewpoint.
Aiming this spear can almost
feel like running on
tank controls at times, and can be a major annoyance when trying to hunt or fight.
However, few games accurately mimic the arcade experience, with Battlezone VR utilizing the PlayStation VR headset not to provide a unique way of playing what is a pretty simplistic arcade shooter, but to instead make you
feel as though you're actually sitting in an arcade booth
controlling a virtual
tank.
So yeah, basic movement now
feels a lot more fluid than before, with the awkward
tank controls being a thing of the past.
It's an example of the «
tank controls» that started appearing during the PSOne era that just
feel so awkward and cumbersome when playing today.
It
feels like you're
controlling a
tank, without the fun that might come with actually
controlling a
tank.

feel this is party due to the emission of
tank controls, making you less vulnerable than you used to.
