The turbo four pulls the Cruze nicely, peppy around town and decent on the highway, but
in two
tankfuls of mostly highway driving, I couldn't muster 30 mpg
in this Chevy.
Fuel economy isn't bad, either; according to the trip computer, I averaged 24 mpg over a 385 - mile trip (more than one
tankful),
in a mixture of freeway and two - lane driving.
I can see an approx 200 km difference on a
tankful when there is snow and I'm
in Switzerland i.e. 450 instead of 650...
During my long weekend
in the Phoenix area visiting family, I put more than 700 miles on the Laguna Blue Z06 convertible, primarily on the freeway, and my best
tankful averaged out to just over 21 mpg.
In one 257.8 - mile
tankful at the hands of Mr. Rong the T&C returned 14.6 mpg.
On the next «
tankful» of battery we got 61.5 miles
in EV mode, but that was downhill for most of the first 10 miles, so maybe saying 51 miles would be more accurate there.
It's not good enough to give LEED certification to laughably inappropriate and ungreen uses, like parking garages and drive throughs, because everybody including every designer at Starbucks and every customer using this place knows that the amount of energy saved by recycling that snow fencing is equivalent to about one
tankful of gas
in the next Escalade that stops there.
