I don't always add
dried fruit but when I do I prefer something with a bit
of tartness, such as
cranberries or sour cherries.
I added
dried cranberries to the mix, which added a bit
of tartness to the semi-sweet cookie.
Instead
of chocolate chips I add 1/2 cup
of dried cranberries for
tartness and an additional 1/2 cup unprocessed wheat bran to increase the fiber.
We use apple juice concentrate in a few
of our
Dried Fruits to combat the
tartness of cranberries and add moisture to the Strawberries and Blueberries that without it would be too
dry.
I use lots
of fresh herbs,
dried rose petals, toasted walnuts and a pop
of added color and
tartness from
dried cranberries.
I did add about a tablespoon
of coconut oil rather than more honey and also added some
dried cranberries for
tartness.
I added a cup
of dried cranberries, coarsely chopped, and they had the perfect
tartness to balance the sweet coconut and chocolate chips.
Used cherries as one
of my
dried fruits to add the
tartness the
cranberries would have had.
