While many
of us prefer the sweet, sweet
taste of cold brew, making it at
home seems to take just enough effort to force us into spending
too much at the Starbucks next to work instead.
It's the type
of comfort food that you order at a restaurant, and wish you had an endless supply to eat at
home, because it
tastes so good and seems super complicated to make (I honestly just had some at a restaurant, and wanted to order 10 more to take
home — I didn't, but I wanted
too).
And I can put it together in a couple minutes and then leave it to cook — except hubby works from
home so I can't do this
too early in the day or it will be gone before I can even get a
taste of it!
Clearly, it was a
taste of home for her and her enthusiasm made me excited
too.
When I came
home from the yoga - course, smelling like lavender oil (yep, we got massage
too), I cooked this warm hearty Yoga Pot with a
taste of fennel!
I find most take - out versions
of pad - thai much
too sweet for my own
tastes and I'm always on the lookout for a good
home - cooked version.
With the lure
of The Honey Exchange and the honey
tasting (oh, okay... and maybe a trip to the baseball card shop
too), Calvin was the brave soul who made the journey with me, sitting on the ride
home with this little box full
of ten thousand bees buzzing next to him.
So yes, vacations are very good at making us feel positive, or putting us in a positive state
of being that allows us to
taste life at this amazing level, which by the way is possible when we come
home too.
And before I get started, let me just say that as much as I love Italian food, I prefer making it at
home because when you go to restaurants they give you oversized bowls
of pastas which don't ever finish or things are
too cheesy for my
taste (and I do love cheese).

My vet WAS NOT happy that I didn't just go GEE, AWW and say I'd go right

As a result, production and distribution are modest, and the resulting sake can be somewhat delicate; after a
tasting I was especially keen on one
of the seasonal offerings but was told that particular variety was
too temperature - sensitive to survive the trip back
home.
There is plenty
of opportunity to have a little
taste of the region,
too, as Piedmont is one
of Italy's most food - focused areas, with suggested stops to try local truffles, cheeses and hearty risottos to refuel at the end
of the day, and pit - stops at wineries — Barolo is, after all,
home to one
of the world's most famous wines.
