Corrales - Diaz comes to the museum from Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she currently holds dual posts as curator of the Johnson Collection — where she curated «To Teach Is To Learn: Lessons in African American Art of the South» (2017) and «Southern Roots: Selections of Self -
Taught Art from the Johnson Collection» (2016)-- and visiting scholar at both Wofford and Converse College.
Ms. Ringgold is professor emeritus at the University of California, San Diego where

She has
taught art from pre-school to adult students and has recently retired as a substitute art teacher for her local school district to devote more time to her painting.
Jamie earned a bachelor's degree and a Master of
Teaching Arts from The University of Tulsa in theatre education, a certificate in educational leadership from Oklahoma State University, and is a national facilitator with School Reform Initiative.
Laureen also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a certificate to
teach Art from Worcester State University.
