taught by my Pastor?
But I believe he's been
taught by his pastor father the old school teachings on tithing and other beliefs so much that he hasn't seen the truth in Scripture.
People with low IQ are very fearful of having a lot of information thrown at them and many times don't have the ability to step out of their own experiences or handle that what they were
taught by their pastor or whomever that X, Y and Z are wrong.
Such endorsement would be disastrous — most especially for those who would be
taught by their pastors to ignore the saving power of divine precept.
Several churches I know of have a mid-week «Pastor's Study» which is
taught by the pastor, and is devoted to reviewing the sermon that was preached the previous Sunday, and answering any questions that people might have.

by inference, since the apostles and prophets laid the foundation for the church through writing Scripture, the

All of this is simply to reinforce that a

teaching must be warmed
by personal encounters with the people under his care.
The self righteous self serving people who refuse to discuss anything that has not been «

What there is is finding other ways of exercising that call: interim
pastor, parish associate, stated supply,
teaching church school, worshiping always, serving on presbytery committees, being volunteers in mission, and
by being a participant as an «honorary layperson» in the ongoing life of a congregation — all these and more are ways
by which we respond to the enduring calling
by God through the church.

Christ called the apostles to preach the gospel and,
by his command, they ordained
