Inspired by the PBS show, Word Girl, I've created a vocabulary activity where students
teach vocabulary words to each other by creating a performing...
Here's why: Most elementary teachers are already doing a great job of
teaching vocabulary words.
Once students are explicitly and intentionally
taught vocabulary words, they can then play interactive games with the words.
This lesson provides six activities, based on the six levels of Bloom's Taxonomy to
teach a vocabulary word.
The book addresses how to discover the child's learning pace, how to lengthen a child's short attention span, how much drill and review are necessary once a phonics concept has been introduced, and how to
teach vocabulary words.
I am always really excited about learning and
teaching vocabulary words, but my students aren't always as exhilarated as I am.

vocabulary expansion happens usually on its own as kids meet other people and enter preschool, there is a lot you can do at home to
teach your child descriptive

Word Generation and state assessment scores can be explained by the program features that go beyond the
teaching of individual
vocabulary words.
They can be used for weekly spelling
words,
vocabulary teaching, reviewing, or just reinforcement or enrichment to an already existing program.
Although not a complete solution to
teaching students about new
words, the Web has several super activities, on - line games, puzzles, and ideas to help classroom teachers build students»
vocabulary and spelling skills.
