The consequences are already hitting classrooms; many schools are currently struggling to build a skilled, empowered, diverse
teaching workforce — especially when it comes to high -
need areas like STEM and
special education.

taught special education in public schools in Wisconsin for 35 years and have witnessed phenomenal progress in supporting students with a wide variety of

The Monarch Center work continued his responsibility to assist with the development of
special education teaching - training at tribal colleges; his primary work in Alaska was to respond to the
need in rural and Alaska Native village schools for «highly qualified» paraprofessionals under No Child Left Behind.
BTR graduates tend to
teach in BPS for longer periods of time, and they
teach in high -
need areas such as math, science,
special education, and tend to be teachers of English language learners.
It would be nice to offer a program to
special education students where the students that really want to learn in a disciplined learning environment rather than being put in a classroom with up t 17 students with disabilities from behaviors to ID MILD and trying to meet the

Heavier sanctions required for schools that do not boost test scores have previously been shown to be counter-productive; • The requirement that limited English proficient students score «proficient» on English exams is self - contradictory, as is the provision that most children with
special needs demonstrate competency in the same manner as other students; •

Unfair, inappropriate and discriminatory because the Common Core SBAC test fails to measure what has actually been
taught in the classroom, that the SBAC test is based on materials that is more than two to three levels above grade level, that the SBAC test pass / fail score is calibrated to fail the majority of public schools students and that the SBAC test is particularly unfair because it discriminates against those who face English Language barriers or
