teacher evaluation models as primarily either measurement systems — which provide a static picture of a teacher's performance at a given point; or as growth systems — which track improvements in teacher pedagogy over time.

One of the hottest tickets was a session led by Charlotte Danielson, the architect of a

evaluation model being used in a majority of New Jersey school districts
as part of the state's new tenure - reform law, which aims to hold

teachers as they strive to improve their practice.
