Teaching with technology is often valued in the general sense by learning standards and
teacher evaluation protocols (Young & Bush, 2004).
Using data captured by that state's intensive

With the passage of
teacher evaluation legislation across the country, it is clearer than ever that an instructional framework — coupled with
protocols around observation and feedback — is central to improving teaching practice and learning for all students.
Using a
protocol (like those available at www.schoolreforminitiative.org) provides a systemic, respectful, and productive way to analyze what the student or
teacher has produced, rather than rush to a hasty
evaluation and simply mark items as right or wrong.
As a supplement to the information and data collected through the TPEC system, beginning with federal program monitoring conducted in school year 2015 - 2016 for the Title II, Part A, program, the monitoring
protocol will include questions designed to gauge the extent to which a school division has: 1) fully embedded the state's required performance standards and
evaluation criteria in the school division's locally - designed
teacher and principal
evaluation system; and 2) adequately used results of
teacher and principal
evaluations to inform the school division's professional development offerings and educator support system.
