In the face of continuing criticism of teacher preparation, the Ohio Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (OACTE) has worked to advocate for
sensible teacher preparation policy.
In total, 33 states have made «significant improvements» to
teacher preparation policies over the last two years, according to the report, the group's second annual study of teacher colleges.
To advocate
for teacher preparation policies, and to support the effective implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) in Illinois and Indiana by building community support for teacher quality policies and other reforms.
David has also worked as a project director at the New Teacher Project (TNTP), designing research on teacher effectiveness, and staffed
a teacher preparation policy commission for the Michigan State Superintendent.
