teachers during the course of your studies.

course of the experiment, sixth, seventh and eighth graders learned about science and social
studies in one
of two ways: 1) material was presented once, then
teachers reviewed it with students three times; 2) material was presented once, and students were quizzed on it three times (using clickers like the ones in Bain's current classroom).
Other
studies of preservice
teachers» decision making have used the TPACK framework as a basis for understanding their choices when completing design tasks
during educational technology
courses or
during fieldwork experiences in general education classrooms.
Interviews conducted
during the

of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) contracted with Inspired Teaching from 2011 to 2015 to work with cohorts
of teachers to create Common Core - aligned curricula for every unit
of every social
studies course grades 6 - 12.
During this academic year, prospective
teachers took a social
studies education
course coupled with a96 - hour field component in the fall and a second social
studies education coursein the first 5 weeks
of spring, immediately followed by 10 weeks
of studentteaching.
During the first 2 years
of the
study, 2002 - 2004, obtaining all
of the work samples from Student Teaching II was difficult, since the preservice
teachers were using their work samples in an action research
course that immediately followed full - time student teaching.
Integrating authentic, rich evidence
of student learning with the processes
of evaluation — at the stage
of goal - setting, throughout the
course of the year, and at the end
of teaching cycles (a year, a semester, or a unit
of study)-- can help
teachers, mentors, and evaluators see firsthand what students know and can do before,
during, and as a result
of teaching.
Although this coursework must be tied to the science
of reading, candidates may complete the
course of study either as part
of a
teacher preparation program or
during the first six years
of employment.
