The literature on effective schools emphasizes the importance of a quality
teaching force in improving educational outcomes for students.
Long term, policymakers can look to mitigate the impact of racial bias through efforts to recruit a more
diverse teaching force.
And we can at least begin the process of creating a more sustainable
teaching force for our future generations.
Our goal is to facilitate the development of an
effective teaching force that reflects the diversity of Black people in this country.
Now, a large part of the
current teaching force is learning Portuguese alongside the students they are teaching.
