The investment in the preparation for
teaching, in the
moment, in the follow - up — all are intrinsically optimistic, optimistic that these efforts will bear fruit and that the fruit will be borne even by trees not
yet planted, seeds not
yet sown.
Not too many English teachers can say that magical
moments occur while grading essays;
yet, one of my most magical
teaching moments occurred while I sat reading through students» unit reflections this past weekend, and assessment literacy is to thank for this
moment of sheer educator bliss.
We're gathering resources, revamping our curriculum maps, reviewing text complexity, looking for quality performance - based assessments, revising rubrics, designing rigorous
yet engaging lesson plans, attending informational meetings, considering policy changes, educating community members and parents, collaborating every
moment we can find — all while loving and
teaching our students.
His «aha»
moment came in 2010 when he discovered the simple
yet profitable technical patterns he
