To continue the conversation about neuroethics with current
students who will continue to work with neural engineering
technology or participate in research, Specker Sullivan
taught a UW course called «Neuroethics»
during spring 2017 that was offered under «Advanced Topics in Philosophy.»
The
students also

They volunteered to participate in the project for the following reasons: to motivate
students through their interest in and enjoyment of
technology, a desire for professional growth through learning to integrate the iPad into lessons, and an interest in determining whether iPad integration would improve
teaching and learning
during tutoring sessions.
Interviews conducted
during the course of the study reveal that participants saw great potential for teachers to use DocSouth in their classrooms, since both they and their
students have the requisite
technology skills, the teachers already use the Internet to plan instruction and for research purposes, and perhaps most importantly, part of their goal in
teaching history is to present multiple perspectives.
Though a growing body of research has studied the theory and best practices for developing
students» disciplinary literacy skills in the high school classroom, research that investigates the ways preservice secondary teachers use instructional
technology during their
student -
teaching internship is an emerging area of study.

Preservice teacher reflections were examined for examples of
technology use throughout their
student teaching field experience, not just
during the instruction of the work sample.
The initial interview was designed to discern participants» thoughts about
technology use, and document how they intended to integrate educational
technology into their instructional practices
during student teaching.
For summative assessment, classroom observations are used to gain insight into changes in
teaching strategies, types of innovative
technology used in classrooms, and overall effectiveness of lessons for engaging
students during science inquiry.

during the school year and beyond, as well as to assist digital immigrants (teachers) in adapting
teaching strategies to use
technologies that are most attractive and familiar to
students, who are digital natives (Goldsmith, Haviland, & Smith, 2002; Prensky, 2001).

Students had the opportunity to
teach each other about the challenges they encountered
during scientific inquiry and design processes, highlighting the overlap in skills between science,
technology, engineering, and math.
Teacher education and educational
technology faculty members team
teach this Web - based activity, in which
students explore the perspectives of historical figures playing significant roles
during the convention.
The volunteer tutor had worked with teachers
during field experiences and
student teaching placements who regularly used
technology with
students and managed classroom Web sites.
Students were exposed to digital learning
technologies during both the lectures and the tutorials of the third year bachelor of education unit (Learning and
