Very few experimental approaches have assessed
ecosystem responses to multi-factorial treatments such as listed above (Norby and Luo, 2004), and experiments on warming, rainfall change or atmospheric CO2 level are virtually absent in savannas, with many
ecosystem studies confined mainly to
temperate grasslands (Rustad et al., 2001).
