Although the Met Office Hadley Center model projects extreme drying and warming in the Amazon due to ongoing
climate change, and there may even be a

I can see the energy independence pull on tapping into these fuel sources, but frankly any government which advocates developing oil shale or tar sands seriously loses its credibility in
terms of its
commitment to tackling
climate change and on the environment more broadly.
In ethical
terms we see another example of a
climate scientist who holds a strong ethical
commitment to the policy dimension of
climate change and its associated end of shaping public opinion and behaviour, appearing to prioritise the pursuit of those ends above the narrower moral codes of scientific discovery.
