Dramatic
changes would naturally have to occur as a result — from quick wins like carbon
taxes and energy efficiency regulations, to longer -
term policies like phasing out combustion - engine cars and carbon - neutral building regulations.
But what I do know is that there are ways that
policy changes could «tilt the balance» towards longer
term investments of this sort, probably without either spending collected
tax money or interfering with the «free» market in capital.

In what his aides called one of the most significant
policy addresses of his second and final
term, the mayor argued that directly
taxing emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that contribute to climate
change will slow global warming, promote economic growth and stimulate technological innovation — even if it results in higher gasoline prices in the short
term.
It is interesting to me that the remediation approaches currently being considered for climate
change can be classified into two categories: 1) Geoengineering — approaches ranging from fertilizing the oceans to detonation of many nukes 2) Econo - engineering (a
term I just coined)-- which looks at
policy / fiscal
changes ranging from cap and trade, carbon
taxes, etc. to forcing everybody to live like the Amish.
While certain wealth transfer tools such as the Roth IRA may provide a buffer, your
term life insurance
policy will offer your family the monetary security that can help them weather future
changes in federal
tax laws.
According to the
changes proposed in budget 2018, single premium payment of health insurance plans with more than 1 year of
policy term will be eligible for income
tax exemption on a pro-rate basis.
