the terms knowledge and wisdom have specific senses in my remarks, and filling in other senses makes those remarks» I fully agree» breathtakingly senseless.

As long as we cling to our own categories we can not hear the voices of our tradition that speak about the importance of poverty
and silence, that talk about the benefits of unjust suffering, that understand self -
knowledge in
terms of internal bondage, that depict human struggle in
terms of solitude
and self - abnegation, that speak of freedom in
terms of self - denial
and asceticism,
and that perceive
wisdom in
terms of detachment
and transcendence.
And it gradually dawns on me that the very state I was attempting to characterize» that the concept of «
wisdom» has been diluted in the modern period until it is indistinguishable from
knowledge (Prof. Crosby's letter giving evidence of this)» can affect the way a reader encounters these
terms.
As well as being a
term deeply rooted in decorative traditions, it also has wide - ranging meanings for different cultures, often related to
wisdom,
knowledge and immortality as it has no end
and no beginning.

and so appreciate the
wisdom and knowledge Stan shares for those in new as well as very long
term relationships.
