That's not to say I didn't love them at the time, it's just that while I can go back to Legend of Zelda, Metal Gear, and even Friday the 13th and have good experiences, Double Dragon 1 and 2 were largely terrible, thanks to cheap AI, inexplicable controls, and
terrible framerate issues.
There hasn't been a new Double Dragon game since 1995, and the franchise was so poorly - managed that when the original arcade version came to Xbox Live a few years back, a crippling technical limitation was left intact: attempting to play Double Dragon co-op led to
terrible framerate issues.
