The season before we bought Ozil our best player was Cazorla (AMF) and we were in a desperate need for a striker (still we are) and Higuain was availabe for less than 30M... Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
Its NOT just Giroud its the whole strike force that are absolutly rubbish, I mean yes Giroud misses far more than he scores and that is NOT the mark of top notch striker, but Wellbeck is not the finished article and to my mind shows no signs of becoming so, He seems to suffer from this innate lack of courage, a lot like Wallcott does, in laymans terms they sh!t out when it comes to the crunch, Giroud is just not good enough to be the striker we really need on the end of Ozil's assists.

giroud, lecoq, are gud backups to hve in the squad but not a first team player for a team wanting to challenge for epl.coq has got to improve slightly on the ball but off the ball he is gud.everyone knows about giroud and I don't think a gud striker is enough for us.we need a very clinical guy not a guy who will be going through dry patches coz thats guaranteed from a gud striker.gibbs is tricky he is a gud option to hve on the bench but if we scout someone younger and better than him then I think we can sell him for both the clubs sake and himself coz he hasn't progressed as a player.what I find shocking is bellerin back up is jenkinson worth a team challenging for epl?I don't think so and we should find an able guy there than fool ourselves and next season we pay for mistakes again.

Don't get me wrong — I said from the beginning that Benzema wouldn't be sold unless Real Madrid were replacing him, like they and Barcelona did with Özil and Sanchez — but the fact that we have an obvious need for a striker and a cover DM, Wenger / those in charge seem to be content with the current squad makes me sympathize with Robin Van Persie for leaving when he had bigger ambitions than what those in charge had.

I'm with you there mate. He's just an average player beign given many chances.A lot of average strikers can even do better because of the chances Arsenal creates. There are some strikers who are not top quality but have very good finishing that if given the same seasons and chances Giroud has had they can do better.I hate it when they make it seem like only world class strikers are better than him. He's really only improved from season 14/15 honestly speaking. He used to be so bad and waste a lot of chances. It's just that become can not see the fact that he's not as good as they think. We will surely be vindicated by his performance for another club.
I thought people here were debating about two or three seasons back why he should be our top striker. When I thought the Monaco match was the icing on the cake to show how average he was it seems just like Wenger we» will never learn our lesson. Now people our okay with him being a super sub which is debatable.Giroud was a super sub in games last season because he wasn't played when he was supposed to.He's not your ideal super sub because he very hardly creates but rather requires people to create for him. Most of the time super subs are the one's who tend to create the chances and open up spaces in the opposition defence.West ham are ready to pay and hence we should demand more from them.We can then use the money from his sale on far better players.Given the same seasons, time and chances a lot of average strikers can do better than what he did. This is because Arsenal create a lot of chances and it just needs someone who can finish.Goodbye!.
campbell or sanogo should go on loan now and replaced with 30 * brazilian jonas free agent 80 - 82rating prev valencia main striker worth 11m champ League 14app = 8g, 5 ass la liga113app = 36g / 16ass excellent = ball control, very good = dribble, preditor, long shots good = finishing, positioning, vision decent = free kick, speed, passing last season comparison; # ave 0.87 shots outside area better than giroud # 39 % take ons better than giroud not far from welbeck # 56 % shot accuracy would rival the best finishers in the prem.

Nice to say our wise and great leader writer but whether it translates on the pitch is another matter altogether. The problems in arsenal honestly is more than 2 signings however those two signings are coming to the position where we need them the most so we will take it so.But is he really going to do that as from his actions it implies we do not need a new dmf but for a striker i think it crosses his mind at times. He just needs to do the right its like he has lost control or something.I just do not get him again.Imagine dropping Ox who is currently our most effective and best player right now as he is in form. Then he puts Gabriel on the bench for who.He is kidding. He then keeps players who should be released or sold and plays them. This is nonsense.
