Apart from the heavyweight and super heavyweight categories, these athletes generally are not bulky, but have very strong muscles and bones — more
so than bodybuilders.
This might sound over the top, yet there are athletes competing in powerlifting and strongman competitions who are a lot
stronger than bodybuilders, and i wonder if achieving fierce «looks» can really get in the way of building true strength and power in the bodybuilding world.
Strength athletes are squatting heavier loads more
often than a bodybuilder and therefore are more skilled at that performing that lift.
Make sure the program you do choose serves your goals: A powerlifter will have a very different
routine than a bodybuilder or endurance athlete.
The reason is because in the army they make you develop more of a swimmer's body
rather than a bodybuilder's body... Which includes doing many hundred pushups.
