To fuel the fire, I enjoyed 50/50 quite a bit and thought it was much
funnier than I was expecting, in terms of being a comedy, but it didn't personally
knock me out as one of my favorites this year.
The types of performances he gives in movies like 21 Jump Street (along with 22 Jump Street on Friday, which is just as good, trust me there),
Funny People,
Knocked Up, and Superbad are tremendous, but they're very different
than what he's shown us in Moneyball and The Wolf of Wall Street.
We've seen other variations in recent years, most notably in Johnson Family Vacation and Thanksgiving Family Reunion, but in nearly all instances, these movies seem like desperate
knock - offs on autopilot rather
than truly
funny, inspired family comedies.
Like the rest of the film, Ferrell isn't incredibly
funny in this character he could have
knocked out of the park, but he offers a spoof of modern politicians that will resonate more
than you'd suspect.
Though Willis frequently looks bored (he and Smith didn't get along), Morgan and Seann William Scott provide their fair share of laughs, especially during a drawn - out
knock -
knock joke that's much
funnier than it has any right to be.
Nothing is
funnier than knocking on someone's door as a gorilla then beating the crap out of them when they answer.
How beautiful and just so wonderful an act of kindness like that...
funny because my neighbour
knocked on the door this afternoon with a bunch of handpicked flowers from the yard, she was leaving for a weeks hols and thought I might like to enjoy them rather
than them sitting out there on their own.
