But is is better
than fish oil?
From Bocio A. et al. 2003, the highest PBDE concentrations were in oils, fish, meat, and eggs, with the PDBE content in eggs presumably being mostly from their lipid fraction in the yolk, at a concentration comparable to dairy fats (less
than fish oil, more than meat fats).
Keep in mind that flax seed oil is more unstable and likely to go rancid much quicker
than fish oil.
For this same reason, krill oil is typically more concentrated
than fish oil, so you have to take less pills per day and / or smaller pills.
Remember that krill oil has a higher absorption rate
than fish oil, so you need less of it to see results.
This demonstrates that while krill oil is more effective
than fish oil (according to the 2003 study), both are capable of reducing stress.
Krill oil — The omega - 3 fatty acids in krill oil are stored in a different biochemical form
than fish oil.
This is why krill oil is 10 to 15 times better absorbed
than fish oil.
It is supposed to have 9 times better absorption
than fish oil capsules; I was hoping you could comment on that.
It has 50 times greater absorption
than fish oil and enhanced bioavailability.
Also, is krill oil better
than fish oil?
I love this and prefer better
than the fish oil.
Krill oil supplements tend to be much more expensive
than fish oil supplements.
The point is, krill oil is more bioavailable
than fish oil, and that's a good thing.
Although I typically don't recommend many supplements (because 95 % of them are usually bogus), the 2 supplements I do recommend are a good antioxidant blend and a Krill oil (which is even more powerful
than fish oil).
Krill begins decomposing and oxidizing much faster
than fish oil, so to avoid decomposition prior to manufacturing, krill must be kept alive in tanks or frozen until processing can begin.
PS - My friends at Prograde Nutrition only sell legitimate products such as a high ORAC antioxidant blend or natural krill oil (even more benefits
than fish oil).
I personally take both fish oil and krill oil, as the fish oil has a larger quantity of DHA and EPA (and more omega - 3 volume overall), while the krill oil has more antioxidant benefits from the astaxanthin and a higher absorption rate
than the fish oil.
You can easily get enough healthy omega 3s from your diet, but if you feel the need to supplement, krill oil is shown to be a better choice
than fish oil.
I've read where the astaxanthin in krill oil makes it much less susceptable to going rancid
than fish oil pills.
And «at least half of krill's long - chain omega - 3s are in a form that's thought to be more bioavailable
than fish oil» — meaning better absorbed by the body — says Peter Nichols, PhD, a research scientist in Australia specializing in marine oils.
