Both — but also it's a matter of not having to cook the
sugar when using confectioner's... with
regular granular
sugar, you need to heat the
sugar mixture just until the crystals dissolve (think simple syrup)
so the ice cream will come out smooth rather
than gritty.
It has a lower glycemic index
than regular sugar,
so it may be a good alternative for diabetics.
It's made from organic cane
sugar and organic tapioca starch,
so it's a little better
than regular powdered
sugar.
I did use coconut
sugar, which is supposedly lower on the glycemic index...
so slightly less bad
than regular sugar.
It's sweeter
than regular sugar,
so you use less.
Sweet potatoes have a slightly lower glycemic load and glycemic index
than most
regular white potatoes,
so they won't spike your blood
sugar as much.
To be totally honest, I used xylitol for sweetener and didn't actually have enough
so used organic
sugar for the rest,
so not totally low
sugar but these were still fantastic and I'm sure way healthier
than a
regular brownie!
But it takes up more space
than regular sugar and
so you don't have to use that much:)
But when it comes to blood
sugar and insulin sensitivity, the positive effects of fish oil are
so powerful that they almost rival the effects of exercise, while a large new study showed that the synergistic blood
sugar - lowering effect of fish oil and
regular exercise is more
than impressive.
So much better
than using
regular sugar!
