Moving away from the horror elements of The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day is an all - out war of car chases, fight scenes, shoot outs, nuclear explosions and a phenomenal, if gratuitous set piece where the Terminator blows up numerous police cars with a machine
gun for no other reason
than the
script required an action beat.
That's a pretty solid cast, and I was a little disappointed the
script — by Ted Tally and Peter Craig, based on a book by Doug Stanton — doesn't give them more to do
than spout the usual grim / heroic lines and fire a bunch of
guns.
