Coconut aminos tastes great (it's much
sweeter than soy sauce), is soy - free, non-gmo, and does not contain MSG, plus — it has 73 % less sodium compared to soy sauce!
Because tamari is made from more soybeans (and I like to think, less «filler») I find that it has a bolder, stronger
flavor than soy sauce.
You can purchase reduced sodium varieties, but coconut aminos (my recommended alternative) naturally contains 75 % less
salt than soy sauce.
Coconut aminos have a similar but slightly different flavor
profile than soy sauce allowing an easy change up for the same dish.
I do use coconut aminos for this recipe, and they are a lot more
mellow than soy sauce or liquid aminos alternatives.
It's expensive but tastes so much
smoother than soy sauce and it added a nice background note here (it's not as overpoweringly salty as Braggs Liquid Aminos either).
Unfortunately there is basically no awareness of tamari, and it's more
expensive than soy sauce, meaning I can't enjoy a lot of things like beef jerky.
I would just add that coconut aminos can actually be much higher in
sodium than soy sauce and tamari, but this is deceiving because the serving size is typically about 1/3 smaller.
Could this be done with coconut aminos in the sauce
rather than soy sauce and perhaps the agave (or will the aminos lack he needed stickiness)?

than soy sauce but it's still unsweetened.
I like it more
than soy sauce... way less salty and I love the subtle sweetness.
I made it allergy - free with Coconut Amino acids rather
than soy sauce, sunbutter and sunflower seeds.
Although Bragg Liquid Aminos contains less sodium
than soy sauce, aminos from coconut is a much more desirable choice.
