man hold a grudge to God when He offers a life of joy... I have never meet a person

The kind of action from social awareness that is demanded by perfect love is such as must admit the tragic reality that there are people

Stories have come out recently about young girls
who rebel and seek approval from someone

man who lives as if there was nothing beyond physical life and there were no needs
other than material needs, whose values are all physical and material.

man who takes the best of everything (even at my expense) and then talks of

man who serves me and talks of himself, and whose very kindnesses are a continual reproach, a continual demand for pity, gratitude, and admiration.
Laws made by
men are respected no more
than are the
men who make them, and laws that express the will of
men will be broken without compunction by
other men whose will, in the contest of interests, is opposed to that of the lawmakers.
It is therefore at its best more inclusively Biblical rather
than evangelical only; it is directed indeed to sinful
men who need to be reconciled to God but also to
men who need in all things to grow up into mature manhood in the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ and
who are to interpret to
others the meaning of Christian faith.
I certainly trust the motives of a
man who wants to sell me something for profit more
than I trust a politician
who profits from trading in the property and privileges of
others.
For Kierkegaard there is no «solution» to this paradox,
other than the greater paradox of the God -
man,
who, without ever making the leap into sin, became sin for us, i.e., accepted his human solidarity with us, so that in him we might be reconciled with God through the Atonement.
Or the eighteen
men who were killed when the tower fell on them at Siloam — do you imagine they were more guilty
than all the
other people living in Jerusalem?
