Preheat your oven 25 degrees higher
than the recipe suggests, as every time you open the oven, you lose at least this many degrees.
How to use: Generally, most recipes can comfortably accommodate a third less sugar

I baked a little longer

than slightly) different to your dining guests I strongly

recipe a try.

than I needed, not that I complained about having slices to snack on.

recipe suggests 1 1/2 hours, convection baking requires less time, and a little more
than an hour is about right in our oven / Toothpick testing doesn't work — you have to take a visual read on the fruitcake, even remove it from the oven for a moment, peel off a corner of the parchment, which I did, take a peak and return to oven if you like / An hour and fifteen minutes, give or take, works for me / Remove paper immediately after baking is complete.
* I wouldn't
suggest using blackstrap molasses for this
recipe, since it is much stronger and more bitter
than your typical lighter molasses.
Let it soak in for an hour longer
than the
suggested marinade time and grill as indicated in the
recipe.
They took quite a bit longer to cook
than the original
recipe stated so I would recommend checking them every five minutes after the
suggested baking time until you reach your desired doneness.
Interesting... Agree that eggs (esp egg whites) help, but our no - egg
recipe does much better
than the result you
suggest
It took them about 1 hour and 10 minutes to set, rather
than the 55 minutes
suggested in the
recipe.
When I made this
recipe I used desiccated coconut, so since coconut flour is a lot denser and absorbs much more water
than desiccated coconut, I
suggest you use 1/3 to 1/2 cup of coconut flour, depending on the consistency of the batter.
I do hope you get to try my flour and
recipes (they'll be much better
than baking with rice flour), but may I
suggest that the first thing you do is try a bread mix?

Note: You can use leftover grains here, but if cooking the barley or farro specifically for this

recipe — you can vary them each time, according to what's in season or what's in the refrigerator.
If you go down this route I would
suggest using about 1/3 less oil
than the amount of butter the
recipe states.

If you use whole wheat flour, it is hard to tell when edges are brown, baked them longer
than 10 minutes as
