Honestly, much better
than many of us who
only write books for a living.

It's worse
than losing the author to death, in some way, because it not
only ruins the
book we just read, it ruins our choice to ever read another word this author may
write.
A bad self - published
book would probably hurt the author more
than anyone else because you
only get one chance for a good first impression and if you
write a bad
book, a reader probably will avoid any other
books you put out no matter who publishes it.
In truth, I've realized
only recently that the main reason I

than diminishing — success over time, which is the opposite of typical publishing market tendencies.
I don't believe the public
only wants
books written by over-tanned drunks who go clubbing anymore
than blog readers
only want slideshows and posts on Apple.
I say this not to be negative or downplay what you're saying, as I've seen it work for lots of writers, but
only to broaden the point that not everyone is capable of that upfront investment, and as hopelessly impatient I can be at times, this is an issue
than «just
writing more
books» will not solve regarding indie publishing in the big picture sense.

only has to be well -
written, but it has to be significantly and obviously different
than existing
books.
One of my friends is a partner in one of the big ePubs and she says its rare for a
book to sell more
than a few hundred copies (a few leak into the thousands, but those are
written by people like Mary Jancie Davidson and are special â $ œeBookâ $
only offerings).
So, I scoured the internet for evidence that someone other
than the Big 6 (now Big 5) were not the
only ones able to
write and sell
books.
In defense of those of us indie writers who
only publish one
book a year (sometimes just barely within the calendar year as with my last one which was released Dec. 22 — 15 months after the one before that), if you
write compelling characters in a series of
books readers want to know more about, you can do more
than make working - class income.
Then they devalued my
writing further by paying me less
than a half penny per page, which means my earnings dropped to $ 1.00 for full reads in the US and
only 25 cents for my
books in India.

book, «Smarter
than you Think»,
writes a particularly interesting chapter on a proper canine diet, and following it seems to work; feeding a diet of wet food not
only decreases the daily number of trips to the bathroom, but decreases the incidence of allergic reactions to a dogs dander.
