Themes
The faded surface of «Corrupt Diptych» is haunting, like the distinct sensation of déjà vu, the dirt and gravel is metaphorical not material,
moving this artwork away from hyphenated arts (art - and - environment) towards something more mysterious with its abstract lines that race past the corner of the gallery's gyprock
wall;
themes of time and movement that have more in common with land art than abstract painting.
These
themes underpin
moving image's relevance in 2016 and emphasise its role as a discursive tool, pushing discussions beyond the
walls of the auditorium and into the everyday.
Its
walls are plastered with an array of works, mostly on paper (although some extend into sculptural forms or
moving image) that demonstrate the variety and idiosyncrasy of drawing practice amongst these artists, as well as the links and
themes that arise when these works are collected together.
You can
move those closer together on the
wall and start clustering things around
themes that you're noticing.
To hide unappealing elements of architectural interiors or hide ugly architectural elements you can
move them further from a viewer by painting
theme the same color with
walls and window curtains.
When we
moved to the farmhouse, I knew I wanted a common
