cookie recipe with you.I have to start out by saying that while I'm not really a baker, it is something that I truly enjoy doing.While I have made my fair share of cakes and pies,
cookies are one treat that has eluded me.I do have my one go to
cookie, courtesy of Alice Medrich, but I've pretty much beaten that one into the ground this year, and I knew I needed to expand my
cookie repertoire.I started going through my cookbooks looking for inspiration, there were so many wonderful
cookies to choose from, but in the end I decided upon a
cookie that I had seen in my wife's December edition of
Real Simple.The cover of the issue simply stated «30 impressive make - ahead
cookies» and as I looked through the magazine, nothing really grabbed me and
then I turned the page to the last
cookie, and there it was.......
Wow, if you're a math major, you must
then be a
real «smart
cookie.»!
As a former
real - everything bakery owner, I would suggest baking the
cookies first,
then putting the jam in.
The good news is, you can make
cookies with
real food ingredients and have them taste just as good if not better
then the chemical pool.
I love that eating
real food as close to its natural state makes me feel so good, it's great to make a Paleo treat every now and
then but I was getting a little carried away with Paleo
cookies last month, so absolutely back on track this month, surprised at how easy it was to just not think about Paleo treats.
If you want your mixture to look like
real cookie mixture, use oat flour or put your oats in the food processor and
then add the banana and mix everything together.
To be perfectly honest, if you took a bite of this
cookie and
then a bite of a
real Oreo, I don't think you would be fooled into thinking they are the same
cookie.
These foods can easily lead to an endless daydream about how much better the
real thing is and
then, bam, just like that, one day you're elbow deep in a bag full of M&M s. So, my friends, instead of recreating a chocolate chip
cookie recipe or including the debatably approved raw cocoa, which really just makes you realize how much you miss chocolate, I created these raw no - bake coconut tahini cashew bars.
So, if you are looking to fill yourself up with protein yet
real stuff along with ultimate deliciousness
then these
cookies are absolutely your right choice.
Now I know that
cookies are not for everybody, and that others consider a muffin or a piece of cake a
real treat, but the point I'm making is that treats are perfectly fine every now and
then.
I just tried this and it tasted delicous but I felt it was not firm enough and i wanted it like a
real cookie dough texture so i put down some flour, and rolled the
cookie dough in it till i formed a ball
then i left it in the fridge fr about 25 minutes and
then it was just like
real cookie dough!
