there about book marketing and promotion, and lots of it relates to social media.
There are two powerful and enduring myths out
there about book marketing that, spoiler alert, are both wrong: There was once a mystical era of book publishing where writers just wrote and magical book marketing elves took care of the rest.

Look,
there are GREAT ideas in here
about how
marketing really can and should work so that it benefits and helps people rather than annoys and angers them, but so many of the examples and applications are obsolete, it almost makes the
book obsolete....
There's no «right» way to arrive at a price yet oddsmakers typically have their hands forced to an extent by the

In the end,
there are a lot of pregnancy
books on the

about the dad, but more as an afterthought rather than the focus of the
book.

market, some of which have been reviewed by Mumsnetters.

marketing team already promotes your print
books online and is comfortable doing so,
there is very little different
about marketing ebooks.

about book marketing.
Agree that
there is a need for someone to talk
about marketing one
book.
And
there are authors among us — I'd bet that Penn and Gaughran are two of them — who know more
about digital
book marketing than some established publishers» staffs.
As a premium member
there is everything a new author needs to know

book covers, and optimizing sales.
But then I think
about how many times an agent may have to read the ms before she decides it's ready for submission, I'm not surprised agents have to absolutely love it (and know

The good news — especially if the very idea of
marketing makes you shudder — is that
there's no single «right» way to let the world know
about your
book.
Guerilla
Marketing Weapons, in particular, will be a hugely valuable read for authors out
there who have clued into the fact that endlessly tweeting
about your latest Kindle Free day may not be the surest path to selling lots of
books.

about who is most likely to buy your

They say the Gatekeepers (agents, slush readers, and first - line editors) are
there for a reason, ensuring that new product is of the highest possible quality, that they've ensured that booksellers aren't loaded down with crap (and said brick and mortar booksellers are in complete agreement, only accepting
books from major, established publishing houses), and that they and their staffs produce a truly professional final product, handling editing, design, and
marketing so the author only has to worry
about the words.
