After having served
there as a law clerk, in private practice he has personally handled over 40 appeals before that Court, fourteen of which were full appeals with oral argument, and thirteen of which resulted in published opinions.
Ideally, for each additional judge hired,
there would also be an additional
law clerk and technician,
as well
as support staff.

as a programmer, he attended Yale
Law; then he
clerked for Justice Thurgood Marshall, after which went back to Yale to get a Ph.D. in history; then it was on to Columbia
Law and a professorship
there.
