public pronouncements to show that it even has an interest in, let alone support of, Lancaster Diocese's attempt.
It is a reaction to
public pronouncement by a group calling itself «Coalition of NDC Foot Soldiers» which sought to create the impression that
there is bad blood between Mr Sarpong and the trio.
As I said above, even if (and I'm not saying this is the case) scientists have been poor at communicating this point to the
public there is no excuse for anyone who actually takes an interest in the subject to the point where they feel competent to make confident
pronouncements on the state of climate science and the reality or otherwise of (C) AGW not to be aware of it.
If the general
public doesn't understand this then it might be in part due to poor communication by climate scientists and journalists, but what the general
public might believe is not the issue here — this is a forum for people who actually take an active interest in the subject so
there should be an expectation that they are rather better informed than the average man on the street, especially if they are going to make confident
pronouncements about the supposed flaws in the IPCC position (and other things).
There are a lot of places that science could be improved so that the
public might have a little more trust in the
pronouncements coming from the field.
There are of course very good reasons for quite significant constraint on
public pronouncements by holders of judicial office.
