Next you'll need some really stiff cardboard, or ideally,
some thick chipboard.
You could definitely add a base to these — I would cover either a piece of wood or
thick chipboard with white felt and attach the snowman to the base.

chipboard can be cut with a paper trimmer, but for
thicker stuff, I use a craft knife against a metal ruler.
I used foam board instead of
chipboard because it is a little
thicker, more shock absorbent, and lighter.
If your leather is very
thick, you might want to add a little extra to all the measurements to make sure you have room for the
chipboard to fit inside after you've flipped it.
