Instead of making the regular broth - style soup, I added a can of
organic full - fat
coconut milk to give it a
thicker, creamier texture and it's delicious!
I put a can of
organic coconut milk in the fridge for 24 hours and although it did separate it was nothing like the picture on another one of your blog posts, which looks
thick and buttery.
* 1 1/4 pounds boneless, skinless fish fillets (any variety), at least 1 inch
thick (I used wild Alaskan sablefish aka black cod that I purchased from Vital Choice) * 1 tablespoon
organic coconut oil (the recipe calls for grapeseed oil but I prefer
coconut oil) * 1/2 medium red onion, finely chopped * 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger * 2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed * 1 pint grape tomatoes, cut in half if large * 1 teaspoon ground cumin * 1/2 teaspoon sea salt * 1/4 teaspoon black pepper * 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (I omitted this in favor of using a fresh chile pepper) * 1 1/2 cups
coconut milk (I used one can of
organic «whole»
coconut milk) * handful of fresh basil, preferable Thai basil, minced (note that this does not appear in the original recipe) * 1 tablespoon finely chopped chives (I left these out and added a minced hot chile pepper instead)
I also tried using a full mug of
organic coconut milk with the paste but just too darn
thick in consistency for me.
I spooned some
thick coconut milk over the cake and sprinkled some
organic palm sugar on top.
This was looking and smelling so great with the
thick cut
organic oats and
coconut oil, but when I added the soy
milk to soak overnight I noticed black specks floating to the surface.
- you can make the
milk more or less
thick and rich by adjusting the amount of water - you can use
organic coconut — the leftover pulp, once dried (i put mine in a dehydrator or in the oven a low temp) and grinded in a coffee mill of blender, is actually
coconut flour!
I have tried this with Native Forest, Field Day, 365
Organics, and Thai Kitchen brands of canned
coconut milk with great results, as well as homemade
thick coconut milk from both dried
coconut and fresh mature
coconut.

coconut milk recipe ingredients 2 cups
organic, unsweetened shredded
coconut 3 cups of hot filtered water (Use 2 cups if you want a
thicker milk)
1/2 -1 cup almond
milk (use less for a

I found a homemade all
organic shampoo bar (Goat
milk, palm oil,
coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, lavender essential oil, blue chamomile essential oil) that works wonders on my scalp and in my long, wavy,
thick hair and I rinse with ACV.
