"Thin syrup" refers to a watery, light consistency of syrup, which is not as thick or sticky as regular syrup.

To
make thin syrup, use 1 cup sugar for 2 cups passion fruit juice, plus 1 jalapeno, stem and seeds removed, minced.
Serve the syrup as is (I like it chunky) or puree a portion of it for
a thinner syrup.
Reduce heat to medium - low and simmer until cranberries soften and liquid is reduced to
thin syrup, about 20 minutes.
Simmer a cup of water and a little sugar together until it thickens slightly and becomes
a thin syrup.
Boil for approximately 15 minutes for
a thin syrup.
Use a whisk or spoon to break up the jam, and continue to cook until
a thin syrup forms.
I'd suggest using only half a lemon and slicing it more thinly... and / or maybe baking it a bit longer and / or soaking it in
a thin syrup first.
