These scattered flashbacks stick out like a sore thumb and yet they're among the few
things this movie does without a direct counterpart in the 1971 movie.

movie when it came out and raved about it; I didn't see it until a few years later when I was osbsseed with DL's No Cure for Cancer album and was convinced it was the funniest
thing ever (I still might think that).
I don't like smoking, drugs, reality TV, religion, Michael Bay
movies, fast food, etc and I think society would generally be better off without these
things yet I would never seek to have these
things legally banned.
Things like televangelism, angry political picketing, boycotts, horrible Christian
movies, copycat Christian music, anti-intellectualism, hyper - politicized discourse, «Left Behind» hysteria about the «end times,» and «hell houses» (don't ask).
Television already has substituted itself for many of the
things we used to
do communally: go to
