I used these as swaddlers,
breast feeding covers, blankets, carseat covers and I'm sure more... it's been over 4 years — I feel like I can hardly remember a

things that worked is to make sure milk is warm enough, put baby in swing with mobile on as a distraction and she is semi-upright, have baby in a good mood (
feed her just after she gets up from a well - rested nap; and wait
about 15 min longer than her regular
breast feeding schedule so she's hungry.
I don't know why everyone is so worried
about a natural
thing like
breast feeding past a year old.
As it turns out, there were a lot of
things I didn't know
about breast -
feeding.
I feel like everyone who is bragging
about their breastfed toddlers going off to Princeton and achieving great
things BECAUSE of the extended
breast feeding are full of it.

All these
things I feel contributed to our failure to get the
breast feeding going and after being bombarded with information
about how «
breast is best» in the lead up to giving birth I felt like a complete failure when it didn't work out.

about breast feeding in public, this is what I would say.
Once I really had
things down, I began combination
feeding —
breast milk whenever I was with my son but formula when I wasn't — starting around the time he was
about 6 months old (replacing pumped
breast milk with formula bottle by bottle) and then full - time when he was
about 10 months old.
Well, looking at the 10 steps I failed at: — # 6 nothing other than
breast milk (gave hungry baby formula b / c I was too tired and drugged up to nurse more than 5 minutes)-- # 7 rooming in (being tired and drugged up I actually wanted to sleep)-- # 9 no pacifiers (I would rather baby have the SIDS prevention and soothing that comes from sucking)-- # 4 initiate breastfeeding within 30 minutes of birth (that C - section
thing where they sliced my guts open interfered with that timing)-- # 10 I was referred to the support group but sure as hell didn't go (because I deemed healing at home from my surgery more important than being browbeaten
about how I was
feeding my baby).
Millions of mothers manage to work and
breast -
feed, but if you ask around you'll hear all sorts of stories
about where women have to hide to use the
breast pump, what happens to the little bottles that are left in the community refrigerator, and why it's a bad
thing when an important meeting goes way too long.
An article is released sharing the findings of a new study that revealing some new findings
about breastmilk or there may be some issues with formula and hundreds of comments pour in with
things like «formula is the same
thing, really and all the breastfed kids I know are sick all the time but my formula
fed kids have genius IQs and are never sick» or «you know, not everyone can breastfeed so I guess I'm a bad mom because my
breasts just didn't work.»
So my own personal experience and the research would lead me to believe that no, breastfeeding past infancy isn't messing up our kids and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's because all that love, all that connection can't be a bad
thing and I'm glad my daughter has a friend so secure and so confident that understands the natural biological function of
breasts as
feeding tools for babies that they can laugh together at the messages the world sends them
about the female form.
