Veganism has allowed me to be creative
in the
kitchen, and it is probably the best
thing I could have done to improve my
cooking!
I know some bloggers who
cook / bake / prep 15 +
things and spend hours upons hours
in the
kitchen on Sunday afternoon getting everything ready for the week.
One
thing we're trying out
in an effort to cut down the evening
kitchen time is the slow
cooker!
When it's hot
in the
kitchen, the last
thing you want to do is
cook!
Plus, someone
in my house had just
cooked a pizza
in our oven and even though it was already hot

kitchen, I didn't feel like prolonging
things and didn't want brownies that smelled like pizza.
One
thing you will never see
in this (or practically any) professional
kitchen is a potholder: All of the
cooks have three or four towels tucked into their aprons at any given moment.
I like to test new recipes

kitchen, combining
things that i learned or i got inspired by (
in this case inspired by the
cooking class of My New Roots
in Amsterdam) with my own intuition.
To add to the advice on cultivating enthusiasm, while I think that not having to administer tv dinners to your offended taste every evening should be sufficient cause for embarking on the learning - to -
cook adventure, I have found that coming up with occasions to
cook for other people, not just myself, makes me much more willing to learn new
things in the
kitchen.
I've hugely enjoyed
cooking from this book - the recipes are as promised, simple, un-fussy, and based on
things you probably already have
in your
kitchen or you that you could find at your local supermarket.
Despite being told «boys don't belong
in the
kitchen,» the one
thing that brought Ripert comfort during his difficult childhood was watching the women
in his family
cook.
