I also loved the passage about her mother's perfume recipe: I realized they were a poem, both poem and enchantment, recipe and prayer, a code for an invisible kind of beauty to be conjured
with things of the earth.
My point was, if Jesus was humble and back then told his disciples to sell all they had and follow him, then he must not have been to bog on adorning ones self with the riches and
material things of the Earth.
Like an ocean - wave caught in a snapshot, or a torrent of lava stiffened by cooling, the mountains and
living things of the earth wear the aspect, to those who study them, of a powerful momentum that has become petrified.

Think about the things of heaven, not
the things of earth.
My point is that there are
things of earth that are beyond the ken of even the most expert scientists.
Furthermore, a metaphysical outlook, being other - worldly, is unable to show the modem world a Christian outlook which values
the things of earth and sees the world as in process of spiritual redemption and transformation and presents salvation as taking place here on earth.
The Christian attitude permits no ultimate asceticism toward
the things of earth and sense.
Among all the creatures and
things of the earth, man was qualitatively and obviously very different.

the things of earth without awareness that disruptive covenanting has caused a break in heaven.
